About Te Puna Manawa
Te Puna Manawa (HealthWEST Limited) is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) and Māori Provider Partner. Our mission is to empower our community to take responsibility for their health and well-being through support, education, professionalism, respect, and integrity.
Our Services
We provide free, innovative community and primary health, social, and Whānau Ora services across the Greater Auckland region, focusing particularly on Māori, Pacific, tamariki (children), rangatahi (youth), whānau (families), and other high-needs populations.
Whānau Ora Approach
Embracing and supporting the concepts behind Whānau Ora through integrated joint ventures with local District Health Boards and Primary Care Providers, Te Puna Manawa assists and empowers the West and North Auckland community to take responsibility for their health and well-being. We achieve this by:
- Providing information and pathways to clinical, justice, education, and social services.
- Promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting healthy lifestyle choices.
- Encouraging positive change within the community.
Our Philosophy
Te Puna Manawa believes that the solution to health and well-being challenges does not lie solely within the individual but also through the people around them, their whānau. By working together with whānau, Te Puna Manawa gains a greater understanding of the life challenges faced by the community and how best to develop action plans to minimise, resolve, or adapt to these challenges.
Together, we can make a difference in our community.
