HealthWEST is your local Primary Health Organisation (PHO). We’re a team of professional health providers within Waitakere City, including local GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals, working together to improve the overall health of our community.

     Purpose - why we exist

improving the health status of West Auckland people through the delivery of an integrated, quality and cost effective primary

     health system

     Mission - what we do

supporting our providers and communities to achieve good health through analysis, design, partnerships, innovation and

     excellence

Values - what we believe in

empowering consumers to take responsibility for their health and well-being through support, education, professionalism, respect

     and integrity

Our Strategic Direction - how we will get there

be developing a primary care infrastructure for integration - through our workforce, our facilities, our information, and our

     partnerships

Our role is to monitor health standards and quality of services to ensure that you receive the best possible healthcare.

HealthWEST also has the responsibility for ensuring that current challenges in community healthcare are being met. Today those challenges include declining child health, low immunisation rates, and inconsistent older person health, particularly amongst our Maori and Pacific Island residents.

HealthWEST services are designed to support your individual needs and are based on preventative care including risk assessment, early diagnosis and better support for people with ongoing chronic disease.
