Our role is to monitor health standards and quality of services to ensure that you receive the best possible healthcare.
HealthWEST also has the responsibility for ensuring that current challenges in community healthcare are being met. Today those challenges include declining child health, low immunisation rates, and inconsistent older person health, particularly amongst our Maori and Pacific Island residents.
HealthWEST services are designed to support your individual needs and are based on preventative care including risk assessment, early diagnosis and better support for people with ongoing chronic disease.

Influenza complications-all parents please
read.
In assessing your ill child, please remember, Viral illnesses
get better day by day, serious complications get worse hour by hour.
The complications can be bacterial superinfection, like pneumonia
and septicaemia, or rare viral complications, encephalopathy, Reye
syndrome or cardiac myopathy.
