Better@Work

Better@Work is:

• A programme to help low complexity injured workers to experience the clinical, personal and financial benefits of rehabilitating at work, or returning to work as soon as possible following their injury.
• A funded ACC partnership between HealthWEST and their GP practices.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The injured worker is required to be under the care of a participating HealthWEST GP.
• Have fortnightly reviews with the GP.
• Have a non serious injury.
• Be employed.
• Be over 16 years of age.
• Injury occurred after 1st December 2009.

Programme Excludes:

• Accredited employers work based duties.

Under the programme a Better@Work Coordinator will work with the:

• Injured worker.
• Injured worker’s Employer.
• The GP to develop a Better@Work plan appropriate for the worker and their workplace. The plan could include reduced hours at their normal work or alternative duties with their usual employer.
• The emphasis will be to identify the injured workers abilities rather than the disabilities and support them to rehabilitate at work.
